Uzbekistan (+3.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -3.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest gypsum and anhydrite supplier in Central Asia, comprising 69% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 31% share of total exports.

In Kazakhstan, gypsum and anhydrite exports shrank by an average annual rate of -26.0% over the period from 2012-2021.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 478% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, gypsum and anhydrite imports declined sharply to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a noticeable decline.
