Hop Market Size in Central Asia

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, hop imports fell to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 44%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Kazakhstan (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) represented roughly 73% of total imports in 2022. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) held an 11% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkmenistan (9.5%) and Mongolia (4.6%). The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 29%.
