As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, horizontal machining centre imports contracted significantly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a measured increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 1,261%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Turkmenistan (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) represented the key importers of horizontal machining centres for working metal in 2021, amounting to approx. 38% and 34% of total imports, respectively. Uzbekistan (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 21% share, followed by Tajikistan (4.6%). Kyrgyzstan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, waning by -22.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a perceptible reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Tajikistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (-0.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
