For the third year in a row, Central Asia recorded growth in overseas purchases of instruments for dental sciences, which increased by 169% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded prominent growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, dental instruments imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports enjoyed a resilient expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports into Kazakhstan increased at an average annual rate of +16.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+32.4%), Tajikistan (+23.8%), Mongolia (+16.0%) and Turkmenistan (+10.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +32.4% from 2012-2021. While the share of Uzbekistan (+4.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Turkmenistan (-3.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported instruments for dental sciences in Central Asia, comprising 73% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with an 8.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Tajikistan, with a 5.3% share.

In Kazakhstan, dental instruments imports increased at an average annual rate of +10.7% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+42.3% per year) and Tajikistan (+27.3% per year).
