In 2021, insulating fittings exports in Central Asia surged to X tons, increasing by 251% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, exports enjoyed a perceptible increase. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, insulating fittings exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 454% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan was the largest exporting country with an export of around X kg, which resulted at 73% of total exports. Kyrgyzstan (X kg) held a 23% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Uzbekistan (4.7%).
Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of insulating fittings for electrical purposes. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+161.1%) and Uzbekistan (+9.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +161.1% from 2012-2021. Kyrgyzstan (+23 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+4.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -27.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) emerged as the largest insulating fittings supplier in Central Asia, comprising 78% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a 19% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Kazakhstan stood at +9.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kyrgyzstan (+90.6% per year) and Uzbekistan (-9.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, dropping by -8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the export price increased by 166% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+9.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Central Asia
In 2021, imports of insulating fittings for electrical purposes in Central Asia soared to X tons, rising by 58% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a buoyant increase. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, insulating fittings imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 110%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan prevails in imports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near 90% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), creating a 4.7% share of total imports. The following importers - Tajikistan (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons) - each amounted to a 3.6% share of total imports.
Imports into Kazakhstan increased at an average annual rate of +24.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+67.3%) and Tajikistan (+52.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +67.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Kyrgyzstan (-9.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan increased by +70, +4.7 and +1.9 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported insulating fittings for electrical purposes in Central Asia, comprising 90% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 6.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Tajikistan, with a 1.5% share.
In Kazakhstan, insulating fittings imports expanded at an average annual rate of +25.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+70.5% per year) and Tajikistan (+59.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, growing by 20% against the previous year. Import price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, insulating fittings import price increased by +77.0% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 62% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
