For the fourth consecutive year, Central Asia recorded growth in shipments abroad of iron or steel gas domestic appliances, which increased by 1,262% to X units in 2022. In general, exports posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 1,675%. The volume of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, metal gas appliances exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed tangible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 7,134%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Uzbekistan dominates exports structure, amounting to X units, which was approx. 94% of total exports in 2022. Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) took a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to metal gas appliances exports from Uzbekistan stood at +13.1%. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+17.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +17.5% from 2012-2022. Kyrgyzstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Uzbekistan (+94 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Kazakhstan (-12.2 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (-82.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) emerged as the largest metal gas appliances supplier in Central Asia, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 16% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Uzbekistan stood at +273.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+33.1% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (-51.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, surging by 88% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a precipitous contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 35,255% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+229.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Central Asia
In 2022, purchases abroad of iron or steel gas domestic appliances decreased by -19.2% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 233%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then fell significantly in the following year.
In value terms, metal gas appliances imports reduced rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 301%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
Imports by Country
Uzbekistan (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) dominates imports structure, together creating 89% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X units), making up an 8% share of total imports. Mongolia (X units) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of +18.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Mongolia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 94% of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, Mongolia, with a CAGR of +22.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -12.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 31% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mongolia ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
