In 2022, the Central Asian starter battery market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +45.4% from 2012-2022. Uzbekistan (+5.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -5.1% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest starter battery supplier in Central Asia, comprising 96% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 4% share of total exports.

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 10% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Kyrgyzstan (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 15% share, followed by Turkmenistan (11%) and Tajikistan (10%). Mongolia (X units) held a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +42.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
