Kazakhstan (+66 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Tajikistan saw its share reduced by -67.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) emerged as the largest machine-tool for working metal supplier in Central Asia, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Kyrgyzstan, with a 6.3% share.

In Kazakhstan, machine-tool for working metal exports expanded at an average annual rate of +14.7% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+123.3% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+7.0% per year).

The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, falling by -12.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 69% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
