Mannequin Market Size in Central Asia

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Central Asian mannequin market, when its value decreased by -17.2% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption saw a perceptible reduction. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, mannequin exports in Central Asia skyrocketed to X tons, picking up by 88% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports recorded significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 316% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

In value terms, mannequin exports soared to $X in 2022. In general, exports recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 273%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Kazakhstan was the major exporter of mannequins in Central Asia, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was approx. 57% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Turkmenistan (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons), together constituting a 40% share of total exports. Tajikistan (X kg) held a little share of total exports.

In Kazakhstan, mannequin exports increased at an average annual rate of +31.4% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkmenistan (+53.2% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+30.5% per year).

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -33.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 63% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, mannequin imports in Central Asia fell to X tons, dropping by -7.4% against the previous year. Overall, imports continue to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 37%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, mannequin imports declined markedly to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 105%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Kazakhstan represented the major importer of mannequins in Central Asia, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was near 54% of total imports in 2022. Uzbekistan (X tons) took a 25% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Tajikistan (7.1%), Kyrgyzstan (5.6%) and Mongolia (5.4%). Turkmenistan (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.

Imports into Kazakhstan decreased at an average annual rate of -4.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Tajikistan (+16.8%), Uzbekistan (+3.2%) and Kyrgyzstan (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +16.8% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Mongolia (-1.6%) and Turkmenistan (-24.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan increased by +25, +6 and +2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest mannequin importing markets in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Tajikistan ($X), with a combined 89% share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Tajikistan, with a CAGR of +13.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -16.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a slight slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 108%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
