Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a deep contraction. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-knitted men apparel imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a perceptible descent. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Kazakhstan was the largest importer of men's or boys' clothing (not knitted or crocheted) in Central Asia, with the volume of imports accounting for X units, which was approx. 55% of total imports in 2022. Kyrgyzstan (X units) took a 22% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Uzbekistan (14%) and Tajikistan (5.9%). Mongolia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
