Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a noticeable descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 1,987%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, canned mushroom exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 1,999%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Kazakhstan prevails in exports structure, finishing at X tons, which was approx. 89% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), creating a 9.2% share of total exports.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the canned mushrooms exports, with a CAGR of +35.8% from 2012 to 2022. Kyrgyzstan (-2.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kazakhstan (+64 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Kyrgyzstan saw its share reduced by -65.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, the largest canned mushroom supplying countries in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X).
Among the main exporting countries, Kazakhstan, with a CAGR of +27.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review.

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -22.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the export price increased by 119% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan stood at $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+8.4%).

In 2022, supplies from abroad of canned mushrooms increased by 36% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a perceptible slump. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country
In 2022, Kazakhstan (X tons) was the major importer of canned mushrooms, comprising 74% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Turkmenistan (X tons), making up a 17% share of total imports. The following importers - Mongolia (X tons), Tajikistan (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons) - together made up 8.1% of total imports.
Imports into Kazakhstan decreased at an average annual rate of -4.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Mongolia (+3.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mongolia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +3.4% from 2012-2022. Turkmenistan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Kyrgyzstan (-3.1%) and Tajikistan (-9.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Turkmenistan (+6.1 p.p.) and Mongolia (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Tajikistan (-2.1 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (-7.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported canned mushrooms in Central Asia, comprising 71% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkmenistan ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Mongolia, with a 6.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Kazakhstan amounted to -3.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Turkmenistan (-4.0% per year) and Mongolia (+4.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 18%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mongolia ($X per ton), while Tajikistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
