Kazakhstan prevails in exports structure, recording X litres, which was approx. 84% of total exports in 2022. Uzbekistan (X litres) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 9.8% share, followed by Kyrgyzstan (6.3%).

In Kazakhstan, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk exports expanded at an average annual rate of +12.6% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (-7.4% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+2.1% per year).

In 2022, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per litre, with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 48%. The volume of import peaked at X litres in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 56% against the previous year. In 2022, Kazakhstan (X litres), distantly followed by Mongolia (X litres), Kyrgyzstan (X litres) and Uzbekistan (X litres) represented the major importers of non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk, together comprising 99% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +119.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Mongolia ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 88% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Uzbekistan, which accounted for a further 11%.

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per litre in 2022, rising by 9.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per litre in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Uzbekistan ($X per litre) and Kazakhstan ($X per litre), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per litre) and Mongolia ($X per litre) were amongst the lowest.
