The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 95% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, non-domestic dryer imports shrank dramatically to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 212% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan represented the main importer of non-domestic dryers in Central Asia, with the volume of imports finishing at X units, which was approx. 62% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X units), achieving a 29% share of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X units), Mongolia (X units) and Turkmenistan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the non-domestic dryers imports, with a CAGR of +5.5% from 2012 to 2021. Uzbekistan (-4.4%), Kyrgyzstan (-6.2%), Mongolia (-13.8%) and Turkmenistan (-23.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+29 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (+14 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and Turkmenistan saw its share reduced by -4.1%, -9.6% and -29.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Mongolia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 96% of total imports.
In terms of the main importing countries, Kazakhstan, with a CAGR of +2.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, falling by -10.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 60% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
