The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 28%. Over the period under review, production attained the maximum level at $X in 2020, and then shrank in the following year.

Exports in Central Asia
In 2021, the amount of non-plastic frames and mountings for spectacles and goggles exported in Central Asia shrank sharply to X units, declining by -81.9% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 3,467% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, spectacle non-plastic frame exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 896% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Uzbekistan represented the key exporting country with an export of about X units, which accounted for 72% of total exports. Kazakhstan (X units) took a 20% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Mongolia (7%).
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to spectacle non-plastic frame exports from Uzbekistan stood at -85.7%. At the same time, Mongolia (+58.0%) and Kazakhstan (+52.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mongolia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +58.0% from 2012-2021. Uzbekistan (+72 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Mongolia and Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -13% and -59.7% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) remains the largest spectacle non-plastic frame supplier in Central Asia, comprising 94% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 5.9% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Uzbekistan stood at +332.3%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (+48.1% per year) and Mongolia (+29.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 1,282% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded buoyant growth. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Mongolia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+2,915.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Central Asia
In 2021, the amount of non-plastic frames and mountings for spectacles and goggles imported in Central Asia surged to X units, picking up by 162% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports continue to indicate perceptible growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, spectacle non-plastic frame imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan dominates imports structure, resulting at X units, which was near 89% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Tajikistan (X units), achieving a 4.5% share of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Turkmenistan (X units) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to spectacle non-plastic frame imports into Kazakhstan stood at +3.4%. At the same time, Tajikistan (+71.1%) and Turkmenistan (+28.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +71.1% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Kyrgyzstan (-7.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Tajikistan (+4.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan saw its share reduced by -1.8% and -5.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported non-plastic frames and mountings for spectacles and goggles in Central Asia, comprising 91% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Tajikistan ($X), with a 2.2% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkmenistan, with a 2.1% share.
In Kazakhstan, spectacle non-plastic frame imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Tajikistan (+73.4% per year) and Turkmenistan (+20.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -12% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 99% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($X per unit), while Tajikistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+2.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
