The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids production expanded to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. The total production indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production decreased by -3.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the production volume increased by 26%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, production remained at a lower figure.

Exports in Central Asia
In 2020, after two years of decline, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids, their salts and esters, when their volume decreased by -19.9% to X tons. In general, exports, however, saw a prominent expansion. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2019, and then declined sharply in the following year.
In value terms, oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids exports contracted to $X in 2020. Overall, exports showed a sharp contraction. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Kazakhstan (X tons) represented roughly 100% of total exports in 2020.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids, their salts and esters exports, with a CAGR of +11.1% from 2017 to 2020. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) also remains the largest oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids supplier in Central Asia.
From 2017 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan amounted to -21.6%.
Export Prices by Country
In 2020, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 14% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a precipitous setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the export price increased by 14%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Kazakhstan.

Imports in Central Asia
In 2021, the amount of oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids, their salts and esters imported in Central Asia contracted sharply to X tons, dropping by -59.7% against the year before. Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 137%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids imports declined rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 135% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan represented the major importer of oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids, their salts and esters in Central Asia, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was approx. 48% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Tajikistan (X tons), Uzbekistan (X tons) and Mongolia (X tons), together mixing up a 52% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids imports into Kazakhstan stood at -6.4%. At the same time, Tajikistan (+57.1%), Uzbekistan (+31.7%) and Mongolia (+1.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +57.1% from 2012-2021. While the share of Uzbekistan (+19 p.p.), Tajikistan (+18 p.p.) and Mongolia (+2.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Kazakhstan (-38.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids, their salts and esters in Central Asia, comprising 54% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Tajikistan ($X), with a 23% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Tajikistan (+61.8% per year) and Uzbekistan (+30.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 7.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 99% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($X per ton), while Mongolia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mongolia (+15.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
