Organo-Inorganic Compounds Market Size in Central Asia
The Central Asian organo-inorganic compounds market expanded sharply to $X in 2021, with an increase of 6.3% against the previous year. Exports in Central Asia
Organo-inorganic compounds exports skyrocketed to X tons in 2021, jumping by 16% on 2020 figures. In general, exports saw prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 532%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, organo-inorganic compounds exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 551%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan was the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which finished at 72% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), constituting a 27% share of total exports.
Exports from Kazakhstan increased at an average annual rate of +10.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+6,533.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +6,533.2% from 2012-2021. While the share of Kyrgyzstan (+27 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Kazakhstan (-28 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest organo-inorganic compounds supplier in Central Asia, comprising 93% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a 0.5% share of total exports.
In Kazakhstan, organo-inorganic compounds exports expanded at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the period from 2012-2021.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 18% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 46% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan totaled $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (-6.6%).

Imports in Central Asia
After two years of growth, purchases abroad of organo-inorganic compounds (excluding organo-sulphur compounds) decreased by -2.8% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 29%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, organo-inorganic compounds imports expanded sharply to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +53.7% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 42%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan was the major importing country with an import of about X tons, which reached 51% of total imports. Uzbekistan (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Mongolia (X tons) and Turkmenistan (X tons). All these countries together held near 47% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to organo-inorganic compounds imports into Kazakhstan stood at -6.0%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+49.5%), Turkmenistan (+22.8%) and Mongolia (+17.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +49.5% from 2012-2021. While the share of Uzbekistan (+24 p.p.), Mongolia (+10 p.p.) and Turkmenistan (+7.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Kazakhstan (-40.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, the largest organo-inorganic compounds importing markets in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X), Mongolia ($X) and Uzbekistan ($X), with a combined 94% share of total imports.
Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +35.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +5.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the import price increased by 38%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mongolia ($X per ton), while Turkmenistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mongolia (+9.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
