Exports by Country
Kazakhstan prevails in exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was approx. 95% of total exports in 2022. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the pasta stuffed with meat, fish and cheese exports, with a CAGR of +16.6% from 2012 to 2022. Uzbekistan (-17.4%) and Kyrgyzstan (-24.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kazakhstan (+69 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Kyrgyzstan saw its share reduced by -70.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest meat, fish or cheese pasta supplier in Central Asia, comprising 97% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a 1.4% share of total exports.
In Kazakhstan, meat, fish or cheese pasta exports increased at an average annual rate of +7.7% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kyrgyzstan (-23.9% per year) and Uzbekistan (-5.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -8.7% against the previous year. Export price indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, meat, fish or cheese pasta export price decreased by -15.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 140% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+14.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
Imports of Pasta Stuffed With Meat, Fish and Cheese
Imports in Central Asia
For the fourth consecutive year, Central Asia recorded growth in purchases abroad of pasta stuffed with meat, fish and cheese, which increased by 8% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 75% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, meat, fish or cheese pasta imports dropped slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 60% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan represented the key importing country with an import of around X tons, which accounted for 81% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Mongolia (X tons), achieving a 15% share of total imports. Uzbekistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of pasta stuffed with meat, fish and cheese. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+164.6%) and Mongolia (+17.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +164.6% from 2012-2022. Mongolia (+12 p.p.), Kazakhstan (+9.2 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported pasta stuffed with meat, fish and cheese in Central Asia, comprising 74% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mongolia ($X), with a 21% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan totaled -1.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mongolia (+15.4% per year) and Uzbekistan (+214.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, waning by -8.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 20%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+18.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
