Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the pasta stuffed with meat, fish and cheese exports, with a CAGR of +16.6% from 2012 to 2022. Uzbekistan (-17.4%) and Kyrgyzstan (-24.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kazakhstan (+69 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Kyrgyzstan saw its share reduced by -70.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

For the fourth consecutive year, Central Asia recorded growth in purchases abroad of pasta stuffed with meat, fish and cheese, which increased by 8% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 75% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, meat, fish or cheese pasta imports dropped slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 60% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan represented the key importing country with an import of around X tons, which accounted for 81% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Mongolia (X tons), achieving a 15% share of total imports. Uzbekistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of pasta stuffed with meat, fish and cheese. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+164.6%) and Mongolia (+17.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +164.6% from 2012-2022.
