In 2021, shipments abroad of planing, milling or moulding machines was finally on the rise to reach X units after two years of decline. In general, exports saw a measured expansion. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, wood milling machine exports expanded sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 386%. In 2021, Uzbekistan (X units) represented the main exporter of planing, milling or moulding machines, generating 69% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X units), constituting a 29% share of total exports. Kyrgyzstan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the planing, milling or moulding machines exports, with a CAGR of +41.4% from 2012 to 2021. Kyrgyzstan (-7.4%) and Kazakhstan (-9.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +56.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, falling by -35.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 96% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Uzbekistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+10.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Central Asia
In 2021, the amount of planing, milling or moulding machines imported in Central Asia declined to X units, waning by -14.4% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports, however, saw a temperate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 93% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2020, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, wood milling machine imports dropped significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a noticeable expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 178%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Uzbekistan (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) dominates imports structure, together generating 86% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X units), mixing up a 9.1% share of total imports. The following importers - Tajikistan (X units) and Turkmenistan (X units) - each resulted at a 4.1% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Tajikistan (with a CAGR of +1.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported planing, milling or moulding machines in Central Asia, comprising 62% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 26% share of total imports. It was followed by Kyrgyzstan, with a 4.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Uzbekistan totaled -6.7%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (-5.4% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (-2.8% per year).

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, shrinking by -15.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 44% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkmenistan (+12.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
