Exports in Central Asia

Poultry-keeping machinery exports plummeted to X units in 2022, which is down by -56.6% on the year before. Overall, exports faced a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 129% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, poultry-keeping machinery exports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 99.9% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Uzbekistan was the key exporter of poultry-keeping machinery in Central Asia, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was near 69% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X units), mixing up a 31% share of total exports.

Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the poultry-keeping machinery exports, with a CAGR of +112.8% from 2016 to 2022. Kazakhstan (-33.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Uzbekistan (+69 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2016-2022, the share of Kazakhstan (-68.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) remains the largest poultry-keeping machinery supplier in Central Asia, comprising 86% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 14% share of total exports.

From 2016 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Uzbekistan stood at +124.3%.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, waning by -13.2% against the previous year. Export price indicated a notable expansion from 2016 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last six years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 64% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan stood at $X per unit.

From 2016 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+5.3%).

Imports in Central Asia

In 2022, the amount of poultry-keeping machinery imported in Central Asia fell remarkably to X units, declining by -25.4% on the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 148%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, poultry-keeping machinery imports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 115% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Uzbekistan represented the largest importing country with an import of about X units, which amounted to 43% of total imports. Kazakhstan (X units) took a 17% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kyrgyzstan (16%), Turkmenistan (12%), Mongolia (6.3%) and Tajikistan (6%).

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to poultry-keeping machinery imports into Uzbekistan stood at -11.5%. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+34.1%), Mongolia (+23.0%), Turkmenistan (+11.4%) and Tajikistan (+4.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +34.1% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-9.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+43 p.p.), Kyrgyzstan (+15 p.p.), Turkmenistan (+5 p.p.) and Mongolia (+4.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -66.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest poultry-keeping machinery importing markets in Central Asia were Uzbekistan ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a combined 83% share of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Kyrgyzstan, with a CAGR of +26.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -3% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the import price increased by 22%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2021 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Turkmenistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+4.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
