In 2021, Kazakhstan (X tons) was the largest importer of prefabricated structural components of cement, concrete or artificial stone, comprising 72% of total imports. Mongolia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 19% share, followed by Uzbekistan (5.3%). Kyrgyzstan (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.
Imports into Kazakhstan decreased at an average annual rate of -1.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+14.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +14.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Uzbekistan (-7.6%) and Mongolia (-24.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kazakhstan (+46 p.p.), Uzbekistan (+5.3 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (+3.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Mongolia saw its share reduced by -53.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported prefabricated structural components of cement, concrete or artificial stone in Central Asia, comprising 84% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mongolia ($X), with an 8.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 6.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mongolia (-23.6% per year) and Uzbekistan (+3.6% per year).
