Kazakhstan was the main importer of prepared or preserved meat or offal of bovine animals in Central Asia, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was near 47% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Tajikistan (X tons), Turkmenistan (X tons), Kyrgyzstan (X tons), Mongolia (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons), together making up a 53% share of total imports.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the prepared or preserved meat or offal of bovine animals imports, with a CAGR of +11.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Mongolia (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Uzbekistan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported prepared or preserved meat or offal of bovine animals in Central Asia, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Tajikistan ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Mongolia, with an 11% share.
In Kazakhstan, preserved cows meat imports expanded at an average annual rate of +10.5% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Tajikistan (-4.7% per year) and Mongolia (+8.8% per year).
