Uzbekistan represented the largest exporting country with an export of around X tons, which recorded 74% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), achieving a 26% share of total exports.

Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the printing ink exports, with a CAGR of +177.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+35.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 64% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a tangible expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the export price increased by 470%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan totaled $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Tajikistan (with a CAGR of +26.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 96% of total imports. Turkmenistan and Tajikistan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 3.4%.

Among the main importing countries, Tajikistan, with a CAGR of +23.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 24% against the previous year. Import price indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, printing ink import price increased by +46.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 55%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
