In value terms, printing press exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 264%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Kazakhstan (X units) represented the largest exporter of printing presses, mixing up 82% of total exports. Uzbekistan (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X units). All these countries together held approx. 18% share of total exports.
Exports from Kazakhstan decreased at an average annual rate of -7.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+125.7%) and Kyrgyzstan (+17.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest printing press supplier in Central Asia, comprising 68% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 31% share of total exports.
In Kazakhstan, printing press exports expanded at an average annual rate of +17.8% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+133.1% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+20.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, waning by -47.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by 3,020% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2021, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+27.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, purchases abroad of printing presses increased by 42% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports posted a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 275%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, printing press imports shrank remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded temperate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 345% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Uzbekistan (X units), Kazakhstan (X units) and Tajikistan (X units) represented the key importer of printing presses in Central Asia, achieving 91% of total import. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X units), achieving a 4.9% share of total imports. Mongolia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +60.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 91% share of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +60.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -49.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 27% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Tajikistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
