In value terms, pumpkin imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 92% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. Kazakhstan was the largest importing country with an import of around X tons, which resulted at 81% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), committing a 14% share of total imports. The following importers - Turkmenistan (X tons) and Mongolia (X tons) - together made up 5% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to pumpkin imports into Kazakhstan stood at +3.8%. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+72.7%) and Turkmenistan (+25.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +72.7% from 2012-2022.
