Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of pyrethrum and peppermint. At the same time, Tajikistan (+35.7%) and Mongolia (+35.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +35.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Kyrgyzstan (-1.6%) and Uzbekistan (-3.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In terms of the main importing countries, Tajikistan, with a CAGR of +39.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the import price increased by 51% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
