In 2022, approx. X units of refrigerated show-caseses were exported in Central Asia; picking up by 339% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, exports saw significant growth. In 2022, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -10.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price faced a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 17% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Uzbekistan amounted to $X per unit.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+2.0%).

Imports in Central Asia

In 2022, purchases abroad of refrigerated show-caseses increased by 17% to X units, rising for the fifth year in a row after two years of decline. Total imports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +144.6% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, refrigerated show-cases imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports posted prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

Uzbekistan (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) dominates imports structure, together committing 75% of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X units) took an 8.1% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Mongolia (6.6%), Tajikistan (5.1%) and Turkmenistan (5%).

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +60.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest refrigerated show-cases importing markets in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Mongolia ($X), with a combined 90% share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +52.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Import price indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, refrigerated show-cases import price increased by +17.2% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 20% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
