Safety Valve Market Size in Central Asia
The Central Asian safety valve market fell remarkably to $X in 2021, with a decrease of -30.7% against the previous year. In 2021, overseas shipments of safety or relief valves for pipes, boiler shells, tanks and vats were finally on the rise to reach X units after two years of decline. In general, exports recorded a mild increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 96% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, safety valve exports fell modestly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 121%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan was the main exporter of safety or relief valves for pipes, boiler shells, tanks and vats in Central Asia, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was approx. 57% of total exports in 2021. Uzbekistan (X units) took a 24% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkmenistan (14%). The following exporters - Mongolia (X units) and Kyrgyzstan (X units) - together made up 4.6% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to safety valve exports from Kazakhstan stood at -3.0%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+277.4%) and Turkmenistan (+20.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +277.4% from 2012-2021. Kyrgyzstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Mongolia (-7.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+24 p.p.) and Turkmenistan (+11 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Mongolia and Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -4.1% and -30.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest safety valve supplier in Central Asia, comprising 51% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 25% share of total exports. It was followed by Mongolia, with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Kazakhstan amounted to +4.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+129.2% per year) and Mongolia (+0.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -27.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the export price increased by 105%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2020, and then declined markedly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Mongolia ($X per unit), while Turkmenistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+20.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Central Asia
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of safety or relief valves for pipes, boiler shells, tanks and vats, when their volume increased by 43% to X units. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 43%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, safety valve imports shrank to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 42%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan (X units) and Uzbekistan (X units) prevails in imports structure, together achieving 87% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Turkmenistan (X units), mixing up a 6.1% share of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Mongolia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +33.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported safety or relief valves for pipes, boiler shells, tanks and vats in Central Asia, comprising 61% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 24% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkmenistan, with an 8.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Kazakhstan stood at -8.1%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+22.1% per year) and Turkmenistan (-18.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -35.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the import price increased by 22% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Mongolia ($X per unit), while Uzbekistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
