The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 350%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Mongolia (X tons) was the largest exporter of salted, dried or smoked meat, and offal, constituting 54% of total exports. Kazakhstan (X tons) took a 36% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Kyrgyzstan (9.8%).
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Mongolia (with a CAGR of +17.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Mongolia ($X) emerged as the largest salted, dried or smoked meat, and offal supplier in Central Asia, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 16% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mongolia stood at +11.7%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (-3.0% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+12.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, declining by -59.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the export price increased by 89%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mongolia ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+11.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Central Asia
Imports of salted, dried or smoked meat, and offal dropped to X tons in 2022, which is down by -6.1% on 2021. In general, imports, however, enjoyed temperate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 140%. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, imports of salted, dried or smoked meat, and offal fell markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a moderate increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 123% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Kazakhstan (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons) were the key importers of salted, dried or smoked meat, and offal in Central Asia, together making up 73% of total imports. Mongolia (X tons) held a 15% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkmenistan (11%).
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Turkmenistan (with a CAGR of +37.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest salted, dried or smoked meat, and offal importing markets in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X), Mongolia ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X), together accounting for 93% of total imports.
Kyrgyzstan, with a CAGR of +39.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, falling by -14.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a modest expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 64%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mongolia ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
