Exports in Central Asia

Vulcanised rubber seal exports skyrocketed to X tons in 2022, growing by 508% compared with the previous year. Overall, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 902% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, vulcanised rubber seal exports soared to $X in 2022. In general, exports posted significant growth. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Kazakhstan dominates exports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. 90% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), making up a 7.6% share of total exports. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the seals of vulcanised rubber exports, with a CAGR of +70.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+25.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Uzbekistan (-3.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest vulcanised rubber seal supplier in Central Asia, comprising 88% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 7.7% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan stood at +51.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+23.2% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+11.7% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -8.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by 64% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+27.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of seals of vulcanised rubber increased by 24% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, vulcanised rubber seal imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed prominent growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

Uzbekistan (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons) were the major importers of seals of vulcanised rubber in 2022, reaching near 38% and 35% of total imports, respectively. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Mongolia (X tons) and Turkmenistan (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 24% share of total imports. Tajikistan (X tons) took a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +15.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Mongolia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 92% of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +29.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 20% against the previous year. Import price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, vulcanised rubber seal import price increased by +45.3% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the import price increased by 38%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Tajikistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
