In 2021, overseas shipments of self-propelled bulldozers and excavators decreased by -48.3% to X units, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports saw a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, self-propelled bulldozer exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Kazakhstan was the key exporter of self-propelled bulldozers and excavators in Central Asia, with the volume of exports recording X units, which was near 53% of total exports in 2021. Turkmenistan (X units) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Tajikistan (X units) and Uzbekistan (X units). All these countries together took approx. 47% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Turkmenistan (with a CAGR of 0.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 209% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Tajikistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+72.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, overseas purchases of self-propelled bulldozers and excavators were finally on the rise to reach X units after two years of decline. Overall, imports, however, showed a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 158%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, self-propelled bulldozer imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports posted perceptible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 179% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Kazakhstan represented the key importing country with an import of about X units, which amounted to 66% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X units), Tajikistan (X units) and Mongolia (X units), together mixing up a 28% share of total imports. The following importers - Turkmenistan (X units) and Kyrgyzstan (X units) - together made up 5.3% of total imports.

Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the self-propelled bulldozers and excavators imports, with a CAGR of +3.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Tajikistan (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Uzbekistan (-6.0%), Mongolia (-11.8%), Kyrgyzstan (-16.9%) and Turkmenistan (-20.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan increased by +20 and +16 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported self-propelled bulldozers and excavators in Central Asia, comprising 74% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Tajikistan, with a 3.4% share.

In Kazakhstan, self-propelled bulldozer imports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+1.2% per year) and Tajikistan (+0.8% per year).

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
