The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 660% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The shipments of the one major exporters of ski-suits (excluding of knitted or crocheted textiles), namely Kyrgyzstan, represented more than two-thirds of total export.

Kyrgyzstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the ski-suits (excluding of knitted or crocheted textiles) exports, with a CAGR of +38.0% from 2012 to 2021. Kyrgyzstan (+31 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kyrgyzstan ($X) also remains the largest ski-suit supplier in Central Asia.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Kyrgyzstan amounted to +45.3%.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Overall, imports continue to indicate a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 905% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, ski-suit imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 1,002% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan dominates imports structure, reaching X units, which was approx. 89% of total imports in 2021. The following importers - Kyrgyzstan (X units), Uzbekistan (X units) and Mongolia (X units) - each reached a 9.5% share of total imports.

Imports into Kazakhstan decreased at an average annual rate of -19.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+11.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +11.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Mongolia (-1.2%) and Kyrgyzstan (-22.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Uzbekistan (+3.2 p.p.) and Mongolia (+2.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Kazakhstan (-4.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported ski-suits (excluding of knitted or crocheted textiles) in Central Asia, comprising 89% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 4.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Kyrgyzstan, with a 3% share.

In Kazakhstan, ski-suit imports decreased by an average annual rate of -17.3% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+13.0% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (-23.7% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 16% against the previous year. Import price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, ski-suit import price decreased by -6.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 43%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Mongolia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+2.9%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
