The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 67%. The volume of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, plastic support exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 57%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Kazakhstan was the major exporter of spools, cops and similar supports of plastics in Central Asia, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was approx. 85% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), mixing up a 12% share of total exports. Turkmenistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan totaled +6.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+61.9% per year) and Turkmenistan (+52.3% per year).

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. In 2022, Kazakhstan (X tons), distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), Kyrgyzstan (X tons), Mongolia (X tons) and Turkmenistan (X tons) were the major importers of spools, cops and similar supports of plastics, together mixing up 96% of total imports. Tajikistan (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
