T-Shirt Market Size in Central Asia

The Central Asian t-shirt market declined slightly to $X in 2022, stabilizing at the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate strong growth. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped slightly in the following year.

T-shirt exports soared to X units in 2022, increasing by 58% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, exports posted significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 5,582% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, t-shirt exports soared to $X in 2022. In general, exports recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 2,105% against the previous year. The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, which is down by -14.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 67%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then contracted notably in the following year.

In 2022, Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) represented the major importers of t-shirts in Central Asia, together amounting to approx. 81% of total imports. Turkmenistan (X units) held a 10% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Tajikistan (6.9%).
