Table Flatware Market Size in Central Asia
In 2022, the Central Asian table flatware market increased by 5.8% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, table flatware production expanded modestly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. The total production indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, production decreased by -3.9% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 49% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2016 to 2022, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in Central Asia
In 2022, the amount of table flatware exported in Central Asia skyrocketed to X tons, jumping by 29% on 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 1,090% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, table flatware exports contracted notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 487% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then fell sharply in the following year.
Exports by Country
Uzbekistan was the largest exporting country with an export of around X tons, which accounted for 86% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), generating a 12% share of total exports.
Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the table flatware exports, with a CAGR of +30.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+4.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Uzbekistan (+86 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -50.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) remains the largest table flatware supplier in Central Asia, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 17% share of total exports.
In Uzbekistan, table flatware exports increased at an average annual rate of +84.4% over the period from 2012-2022.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, waning by -72.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the export price increased by 636%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan amounted to $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+41.7%).

Imports in Central Asia
In 2022, the amount of table flatware imported in Central Asia declined slightly to X tons, dropping by -3.3% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports showed a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 190%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, table flatware imports rose notably to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 188% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan was the main importer of table flatware in Central Asia, with the volume of imports resulting at X tons, which was approx. 49% of total imports in 2022. Uzbekistan (X tons) took a 30% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Tajikistan (13%). Turkmenistan (X tons), Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Mongolia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Mongolia (with a CAGR of +8.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported table flatware in Central Asia, comprising 46% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Tajikistan ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 20% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan totaled -14.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Tajikistan (-4.0% per year) and Uzbekistan (+55.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 9.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the import price increased by 50%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+46.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
