The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, tap and valve exports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a dramatic descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 91% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan was the major exporter of taps, cocks, valves and similar appliances in Central Asia, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was approx. 54% of total exports in 2022. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) took a 25% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Uzbekistan (20%).

Exports from Kazakhstan decreased at an average annual rate of -31.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+39.3%) and Kyrgyzstan (+37.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +39.3% from 2012-2022. Kyrgyzstan (+25 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+20 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -45.7% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest tap and valve supplier in Central Asia, comprising 61% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 26% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Kazakhstan stood at -29.9%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+49.9% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+33.0% per year).

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -12.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded slight growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 39%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 25%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, tap and valve imports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 31% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. Kazakhstan represented the largest importer of taps, cocks, valves and similar appliances in Central Asia, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was near 55% of total imports in 2022. Uzbekistan (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 32% share, followed by Turkmenistan (5.2%). Kyrgyzstan (X tons), Tajikistan (X tons) and Mongolia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +26.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
