Exports by Country
Kazakhstan was the main exporting country with an export of about X units, which finished at 70% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X units), constituting a 28% share of total exports.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the television receivers exports, with a CAGR of +45.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+28.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. While the share of Uzbekistan (+28 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (+9.3 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 30% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a noticeable expansion. From 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Imports in Central Asia
In 2022, purchases abroad of television receivers increased by 45% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a moderate expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 172%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, television receiver imports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports posted tangible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 63%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Kazakhstan (X units) represented the largest importer of television receivers, comprising 46% of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X units) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Mongolia (X units), Uzbekistan (X units), Turkmenistan (X units) and Tajikistan (X units). All these countries together held approx. 54% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +276.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported television receivers in Central Asia, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Mongolia, with a 6.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan amounted to +1.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+290.5% per year) and Mongolia (-0.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -20.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 72%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2021, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
