Exports in Central Asia
In 2021, approx. X tons of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber were exported in Central Asia; with a decrease of -26.9% on the year before. Overall, exports, however, posted a notable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 187%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, rubber tube and pipe exports soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 93% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan represented the main exporter of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber in Central Asia, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was near 81% of total exports in 2021. Uzbekistan (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an 11% share, followed by Kyrgyzstan (6.5%).
Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+92.8%) and Kyrgyzstan (+8.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +92.8% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan increased by +11 and +2.6 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest rubber tube and pipe supplier in Central Asia, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 19% share of total exports.
In Kazakhstan, rubber tube and pipe exports contracted by an average annual rate of -3.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+75.7% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+0.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 74% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced downturn. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (-3.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.
Imports of Tubes, Pipes And Hoses Of Vulcanized Rubber
Imports in Central Asia
After five years of growth, purchases abroad of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber decreased by -15.4% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a pronounced increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2020, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
In value terms, rubber tube and pipe imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a perceptible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 27%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main importer of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber, mixing up 59% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), comprising a 30% share of total imports. Mongolia (X tons), Turkmenistan (X tons), Tajikistan (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +26.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Mongolia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 93% share of total imports.
Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +45.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mongolia ($X per ton), while Turkmenistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
