The volume of import peaked at X cubic meters in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, preservative-treated rough wood imports fell to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a measured expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 83%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Kazakhstan (X cubic meters) and Tajikistan (X cubic meters) dominates imports structure, together making up 89% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X cubic meters), comprising a 5% share of total imports. Uzbekistan (X cubic meters) and Mongolia (X cubic meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Kyrgyzstan (with a CAGR of +91.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Tajikistan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported preservative-treated rough wood in Central Asia, comprising 67% of total imports.
