From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Uzbekistan prevails in exports structure, resulting at X square meters, which was approx. 96% of total exports in 2022. Kazakhstan (X square meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the woven carpets and other woven textile coverings exports, with a CAGR of +163.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+33.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. While the share of Uzbekistan (+96 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Kazakhstan (-4.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) remains the largest woven carpet supplier in Central Asia, comprising 92% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 6.8% share of total exports.

In 2022, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per square meter, declining by -4.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 16% against the previous year. Kazakhstan (X square meters) and Kyrgyzstan (X square meters) dominates imports structure, together mixing up 87% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Turkmenistan (X square meters), creating a 6.8% share of total imports. Uzbekistan (X square meters) and Tajikistan (X square meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +95.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported woven carpets and other woven textile coverings in Central Asia, comprising 66% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkmenistan, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Kazakhstan was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kyrgyzstan (+8.1% per year) and Turkmenistan (-10.1% per year).
