Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the yoghurt exports, with a CAGR of +45.0% from 2012 to 2022. Kyrgyzstan (-1.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Kazakhstan increased by +55 percentage points.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest yoghurt supplier in Central Asia, comprising 97% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a 3.3% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan amounted to +37.8%.

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, falling by -3.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a mild descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 20%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Imports in Central Asia
Yoghurt imports rose modestly to X tons in 2022, growing by 4% against the previous year. Overall, imports saw a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 117% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, yoghurt imports shrank slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw noticeable growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 115%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan represented the main importer of yoghurt in Central Asia, with the volume of imports resulting at X tons, which was approx. 43% of total imports in 2022. Uzbekistan (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 27% share, followed by Mongolia (17%) and Kyrgyzstan (11%).

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Mongolia ($X per ton) and Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) and Kazakhstan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
