In 2021, the Chilean ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys market was finally on the rise to reach $X after two years of decline. In general, consumption, however, showed a pronounced setback. In value terms, ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a significant decline. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The United States (X kg) was the main destination for ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys exports from Chile, accounting for a 64% share of total exports. Moreover, ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Peru (X kg), twofold. Paraguay (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 5.1% share.

Germany (X tons), the United States (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main suppliers of ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys imports to Chile, together accounting for 86% of total imports. These countries were followed by Greece, Turkey, China, Argentina, the Netherlands and South Korea, which together accounted for a further 13%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Greece (with a CAGR of +139.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
