Furnace Burner Market Size in Chile

The Chilean furnace burner market stood at $X in 2021, growing by 1.7% against the previous year. In general, the total consumption indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +10.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, consumption decreased by -3.2% against 2018 indices. In 2021, the amount of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers exported from Chile shrank notably to X tons, reducing by -35.7% compared with 2020 figures. Overall, exports showed a significant curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 414%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, furnace burner exports dropped significantly to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 1,047%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

The United States (X tons), Paraguay (X kg) and Colombia (X kg) were the main destinations of furnace burner exports from Chile, together accounting for 83% of total exports. These countries were followed by Brazil, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador, which together accounted for a further 14%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Brazil (with a CAGR of +77.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers exports from Chile, comprising 60% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Colombia ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Brazil, with an 11% share.

Imports into Chile

After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers increased by 7.6% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 40%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, furnace burner imports dropped to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +120.2% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 68%. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then contracted in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest furnace burner supplier to Chile, accounting for a 35% share of total imports. Moreover, furnace burner imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), threefold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.7% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Italy was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-3.2% per year) and China (-3.9% per year).

In value terms, Italy ($X), the United States ($X) and Mexico ($X) appeared to be the largest furnace burner suppliers to Chile, together accounting for 65% of total imports.

Mexico, with a CAGR of +34.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average furnace burner import price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -13.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, enjoyed a moderate expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 81% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then reduced in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
