In value terms, grape juice (single strength) exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 126% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Canada (X tons), Mexico (X tons) and Japan (X tons) were the main destinations of grape juice (single strength) exports from Chile, together comprising 92% of total exports. China and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 7.1%.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+12.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Imports of Grape Juice (Single Strength)
Imports into Chile
In 2021, purchases abroad of grape juice (single strength) decreased by -18.5% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports, however, posted a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 3,031% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, grape juice (single strength) imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted modest growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 2,245% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Peru (X tons) constituted the largest grape juice (single strength) supplier to Chile, accounting for a 85% share of total imports. Moreover, grape juice (single strength) imports from Peru exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Peru totaled +58.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-5.5% per year) and Brazil (+14.9% per year).
In value terms, the largest grape juice (single strength) suppliers to Chile were Peru ($X), the United States ($X) and Brazil ($X), together accounting for 97% of total imports.
Peru, with a CAGR of +66.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 106% against the previous year. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Peru ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+15.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
