As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, fungicide and bactericide exports reduced to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The United States (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) were the main destinations of fungicide and bactericide exports from Chile, together comprising 58% of total exports. These countries were followed by Peru, China, France, Argentina, Australia, Ecuador, Italy, Mexico and Turkey, which together accounted for a further 34%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +40.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 18%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, fungicide and bactericide imports rose to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 18% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest fungicide and bactericide supplier to Chile, accounting for a 29% share of total imports.
