These countries were followed by Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia, Paraguay, Spain, China, Bolivia, India, Brazil and Nicaragua, which together accounted for a further 30%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Nicaragua (with a CAGR of +147.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Ecuador ($X), Peru ($X) and Panama ($X) constituted the largest markets for wire and cable exported from Chile worldwide, together comprising 67% of total exports. Greece, Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Bolivia, China, Nicaragua, Spain and India lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 26%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Nicaragua, with a CAGR of +128.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average wire and cable export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a slight shrinkage. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+7.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Chile
Wire and cable imports into Chile surged to X tons in 2021, increasing by 36% against the previous year. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +74.7% against 2017 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

China (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) were the main suppliers of wire and cable imports to Chile, together accounting for 77% of total imports. Colombia, Mexico, Italy, Argentina, India, Portugal, the United States and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 16%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for India (with a CAGR of +51.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), Spain ($X) and Brazil ($X) appeared to be the largest wire and cable suppliers to Chile, together comprising 69% of total imports. These countries were followed by the United States, Mexico, Italy, Colombia, Argentina, India, Portugal and South Korea, which together accounted for a further 20%.
India, with a CAGR of +37.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average wire and cable import price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 12% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a pronounced decline. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Portugal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
