Other Agglomerates Market Size in Chile

The Chilean other agglomerates market rose notably to $X in 2022, surging by 11% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, saw a pronounced descent. For the third consecutive year, Chile recorded decline in shipments abroad of other agglomerates, which decreased by -15.8% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 444%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, other agglomerates exports declined markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 753%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

France (X tons) was the main destination for other agglomerates exports from Chile, with a 58% share of total exports. Moreover, other agglomerates exports to France exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United States (X tons), twofold. Uruguay (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 7.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to France amounted to +63.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United States (-12.4% per year) and Uruguay (+1.8% per year).

In value terms, France ($X) remains the key foreign market for other agglomerates exports from Chile, comprising 57% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with a 26% share of total exports. It was followed by Uruguay, with a 5.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to France totaled +72.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United States (-12.0% per year) and Uruguay (+6.2% per year).

Other agglomerates imports into Chile skyrocketed to X tons in 2022, surging by 15% compared with 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 177% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, other agglomerates imports rose rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 89%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

France (X tons), China (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of other agglomerates imports to Chile, together accounting for 87% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for China (with a CAGR of +49.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
