The Chilean liquid dispensing pump market reduced markedly to $X in 2021, falling by -31.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate buoyant growth. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.

In general, production, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 1,667%. After two years of growth, shipments abroad of pumps for dispensing liquids decreased by -47.8% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 2,812%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, liquid dispensing pump exports contracted to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 530% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Bolivia (X units) was the main destination for liquid dispensing pump exports from Chile, with a 89% share of total exports. Moreover, liquid dispensing pump exports to Bolivia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Peru (X units), more than tenfold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Bolivia amounted to +64.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Peru (-13.7% per year) and Paraguay (+37.0% per year).

In value terms, Bolivia ($X), Peru ($X) and Paraguay ($X) were the largest markets for liquid dispensing pump exported from Chile worldwide, together accounting for 91% of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, Paraguay, with a CAGR of +79.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average liquid dispensing pump export price amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 84% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 9,377% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of pumps for dispensing liquids was finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Overall, imports posted significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 324% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, liquid dispensing pump imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +17.5% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 70% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Moreover, liquid dispensing pump imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X units), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Germany (X units), with a 7.9% share.

The average liquid dispensing pump import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 111% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
