In 2021, after five years of growth, there was significant decline in the Chilean lime market, when its value decreased by -5.1% to $X. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Lime consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then reduced in the following year.

Lime Production in Chile

Mexico (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Argentina totaled -2.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Colombia (+141.9% per year) and Mexico (+57.0% per year).
