Imports into Chile
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of radar apparatus, when their volume increased by 35% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 72% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, radar apparatus imports dropped modestly to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 82%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of radar apparatus to Chile, accounting for a 35% share of total imports. Moreover, radar apparatus imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Peru (X tons), threefold. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 119%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Canada ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
