Sulphites Market Size in Chile

The Chilean sulphites market reduced modestly to $X in 2022, leveling off at the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Argentina (X tons) was the main destination for sulphites exports from Chile, with a 97% share of total exports. It was followed by Ecuador (X tons), with a 2% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Argentina totaled +27.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ecuador (-35.1% per year) and Peru (-18.5% per year).

In 2022, approx. X tons of sulphites were imported into Chile; waning by -21.6% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports continue to indicate a mild reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 81%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
